NINA WEHNERT - READY TO RELATE

In our human development we go through certain stages of movement, articulation and presence. We start in a fluid environment, then the earth, space and our social environment are our partners. We bind, we give in, we push, we reach, we pull, we grab, we hold on, we let go. Conscious and unconscious movement shapes our relationship with ourselves and with the world. It is a dynamic process.

How do we orient ourselves? How do we filter, accept, defend and learn?

In this workshop we will explore some milestones of our motor development. We will explore our intrinsic alphabet of movement, reflexes, an initial vocabulary of movement that allows for growth and interaction in this world. The willingness to relate, to bear weight, to roll over, to locate, to stay in balance. Exploring and moving through these phases can offer ease, lightness, stability and freedom in our dances.

The exploration of movement alone and with a partner, the specific anatomical details and the touch, will take us into the movement and guide us in the Contact Improvisation dances. Information about bones, fluids, organs and nervous system will be integrated into the exploration.

For me, exploring our body and evolutionary history is magic. Revisiting the history of development brings me back to the presence of my existence. Opening the space for improvisation - aligning my inner movement with the expression of movement through space.

Nina Wehnert

Nina is a Body-Mind Centering® dancer, teacher and practitioner and teaches BMC® in workshops, training courses, retreats and festivals across Europe. He is part of the Moveus staff, the BMC® certification training program authorized in Germany. She also offers her own Body-Mind Centering® training programs in Berlin and teaches at the intensive dance program at the Tanzfabrik in Berlin. She has been dancing Contact Improvisation for more than 25 years and has been sharing her experience for a long time. He studied BMC® with moveus in Germany and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in the United States. From 2020 it also offers regular lessons.
